thursday agenda : horses, metbloggers, mariachi, make-believefet

It’s Thursday night, and as usual the Recommend-o-Tron has suggestions for you, that’s just how it rolls:
- Don’t say that I didn’t warn you — but I’m afraid that your chance to get in on the ground floor of Band of Horses fandom has passed. Still, there’s still a little time to be a “before they were huge” sort of fan. Tonight, they celebrate the release of their new record, Everything All the Time with the first of a two-night headlining gig at Neumo’s. If you listened to their Tour Demo EP obsessively, you might be surprised hear how your favorites sound with more production values. Indie guru Phil Ek has worked his magic and filled the beautiful open spaces (/ambient crowd chatter) with gorgeous sparkles and fuzzy guitars. It takes some getting used to, but it’s a fantastic star-making achievement. Tonight’s show is all ages; tomorrow’s is 21+. [neumo's]
- Maybe you like your live music to be free and more southwest inspired? Calexico play a free in-store tonight at the Queen Anne Easy Street Records — 9:00 pm. [#]
- Before heading off to listen to music, don’t forget about your metroblogging pals. We’ll be meeting up at the Garage starting at 6 pm. [upcoming]
- If you don’t like us and you don’t like horses, there’s always Mr. Rogers. [mb]
