The weekend hits in a few hours. Still need a plan?

  • For a while there, you couldn’t spit without hitting a remix or mash-up. But for every innovative reimagining, there were ten boring mash-ups that sounded like the result of a dude learning that he could use his mac to play two tracks at the same time. Diplo falls clearly into the former camp. The Live in Montreal remix of “Maps”, for instance, is a transcendent example of how to give new life to an MTV buzz bin clip. Celebrate the one year anniversary of Trinity tonight with Diplo and others.

  • You may remember Joseph Gordon-Levitt as an alien trapped in a teenager’s body or as an abused teenage hustler (Mysterious Skin). Starting tonight you can see him puzzling his way through a high school teen noir that features another onetime alien teenager (Emilie de Ravin, Roswell). Brick opens at the Neptune.
