Did you SEE the sky tonight?

Did you see the sky tonight, at about 6:30? The blackest clouds I’ve ever seen, transitioning to a poisonous green. If we didn’t live in Seattle, I would have forecast tornadoes. Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera handy for the best part of the show – this photo’s from about 20 minutes later.

That was wild! I felt it before I saw it. The air pressure went through a big change and when I looked out the window I couldn’t believe my eyes. I think it was especially dramatic if you could see east to the cascades, which were still lit by direct sunlight. It definitely reminded me of tornado storms in the south.

Sorry to be commenting so much here today. I need a life. I was running home from the gym near Greenlake when this occurred. I was getting drenched from the black clouds above, but the rim of the world seemed to be afire, with the sun sinking behind the Olympics.

I was out running on Queen Anne, saw a white cloud being flanked by the blackest cloud I’d ever seen. Then I uttered an explitive, and picked up the pace…
I’m glad someone got a picture of it… I was wishing I had. Thanks!

We watched the wall roll in from our apartment on Westlake… the clouds over the city looked like a waterfall or a cliff wall. Being Northwest natives we started talking about how much it looked like the St. Helen’s cloud. Took a few pictures, I’ll download them and see if I can post them somewhere.

These clouds reminded me of the worst of the 5:00 storms that happen in Florida, where there are usually tornados and things. I was a little concerned.

I wish I’d gotten shots, but my g/f and I were out on a walk and I didn’t have my camera with me. We ended up just standing on the sidewalk and watching the clouds move overhead — a sickly greenish-yellow surrounded by black, it looked like a huge bruise covering the sky.

I kept joking that it looked _way_ too much like the clouds that hid the invading saucers in ID4. ;)

i was inside my apartment and felt the huge pressure change. I also noticed a distinct smell-thunderstaorm smell, for those of us that grew up in more humid, eastern climates. was it actually raining though? it stayed dry over my street.

    i love seattle.
