Food for thought
For the foodies among us, a couple of cool things this week. Warning: they ain’t cheap. In a later post I’ll cover the less expensive food events.
March 16: Dish It Up! in Magnolia is hosting a class on Knife Skills with Chef Karen Binkhorst from 6-9 PM. Among other things, you’ll be making Jambalaya and stuffed pork loin, which promises to give you lots of stuff to chop up. Cost is $65. March 16: Kaspar’s Restaurant, open only for special events these days, is hosting a Winemaker’s Dinner for Woodinville-based Matthews Cellars beginning at 7 PM. The five-course dinner includes wine pairings with every course. Cost is $70. Call 206-298-0123 or see Kaspar’s for details.
March 18: Il Fornaio in the Pacific Place building downtown is hosting Pasta Perfection at 9 to 10:30 AM, taught by Executive Chef Franz Junga. Cost is $50, $60 if you want recipe cards. Call 206-264-0994 to register.
March 21: Anthony’s Home Port in Ballard is hosting their 17th annual Oyster Olympics from 3-9 PM. It features such competitions as Oyster Shucking, an Oyster Fashion Show, and an Oyster Poetry Reading as well as 20 varieties of local oysters.
