Kimberley, yelp.com wouldn't have helped us unless one of us had a laptop and there was some sort of free wifi connection at the time.

But since you mentioned it, a cursory glance over yelp.com's website shows me a few things: within the first 10-15 pages or so, I see reviews for such restaurants as "Pike Place Market" (which I hope you'll agree is a huge place) and "Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory" (which is more of a sweet shop). Muddying up the waters are (1) Restaurants that have closed (you're given the title of the restaurant and a big "CLOSED" after it); and (2) People who think great food is served up in places like Burgermaster and the Cheesecake Factory (which, by the way, suck). The top restaurants of Seattle were also rated very well -- and this is information that you can find anywhere, and not exclusively at yelp.

yelp might be a good resource for those of us who are newly arrived and don't know the area, but right now I'm likening it to my GPS unit, which also has the ability to stud a map with little restaurant icons.

I think he must have been a crack addict, because seriously, no one else goes to the Turf. Either that or he really, really wanted to screw with you.

my hand to god, my blog tells you exactly what I said: someplace with good food, not too touristy. Maybe when you're crack addict, your tastebuds go south. Wait... did I just out that guy as a crack addict?
