Name that park
Three new parks in the city are looking for new names, in Uptown, Pinehurst, and Maple Leaf. The City of Seattle wouldn’t mind at all if you named them. But before you put your clever-park-naming hat on, you ought to know that the possible criteria for naming a park are: “…geographical location, historical or cultural significance, and natural or geological features. A park may be named for a person no longer living (deceased a minimum of three years) who made a significant contribution to parks and/or recreation.”
I know that you can come up with something better than “Pinehurst Pocket Park.”
They’d like these suggestions by February 17th, either by post or by email, and they also want to know just how your suggestion fits the criteria.
