Football update, and a request

Dylan’s concerns to the contrary, the Hawks won their game against the Redskins, moving on to the NFC title game next weekend against an opponent to be named later. Go Hawks!

(Incidentally, I’m forced to correct my esteemed fellow blogger. The team in the NFL most expert at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and breaking the hearts of their fans is, in fact, the Philadelphia Eagles. Trust me on this one.)

Now then. On behalf of the football fans of Seattle, we’d like to ask the rest of you a favor. Have a word with God, or your favorite weather deity, and ask them to please shut off the rain for just one day this week. That way the football coverage next weekend won’t include the endlessly repeated phrase “DAY THIRTY-FOUR OF SEATTLE’S CONSTANT RAIN,” and we won’t have to throw things at our television sets.

Colin, you’ve gotten your wish all day today, and we’re 4.5 hours of dryness from bringing an official end to the streak.
