Starbucks at SAM

IMG_3841smb.JPG

I headed down to the Seattle Art Museum tonight for their last bash, as well as another chance to be a Central Services and Math and Physics Club groupie.

Circulating through the crowds parked on the steps and standing in line were Starbucks employees carrying jetpacks full of coffee (like the one on the right). A tube stuck out from one side of the jetpack and a cylinder full of little cups hung on the other side, and the nice folks would wander around to hand out cup after cup of coffee. I’d never seen these things before, but I have to admit that they were a really efficient way of getting the whole crowd hopped up on caffeine for the shows–and for buzzing through the overcrowded Tiffany exhibit.

One of my bosses is in Central Services - I was bummed I couldn’t make the show. How was it?

Why did I think that this show was tomorrow? I guess I read “On January 5, 2006, SAM will close its downtown location so that construction” and assumed that the last bash would be on the last day.

Kelly: It was great! Although that hallway at SAM has worse acoustics than a high school gym. They’ll be playing again on the 21st at Mars Bar with Key Note Speaker (so you know I’ll be there).

Josh: I thought so too at first, but I think they wanted people to have to pay regular admission prices rather than First Thursday ones. Or maybe I’m just cynical.
