Scenes around town: Season’s Greetings

I don’t usually get a chance to closely observe construction sites. Just lucky, I guess. But recently in town, everywhere I look, I see buildings going up or getting torn down.

Of course, I’ve always seen the cranes in the distance, and during Christmas, some enterprising construction worker usually does them up in lights.

But how’s this for cute? In the building nearby my house, the workers dragged a christmas tree up to the 2nd floor, and it’s been delighting passers-by for the past few weeks. Meanwhile, down south near the airport, someone’s managed to drag a tree up on top of one of the lightrail columns that they have been putting up down there for the past few months.

So, apparently it’s good luck to have a christmas tree on top of construction sites/cranes? Colleen, can your boy shed light on this?
