the curse of the pride parade signage

This morning I noticed a “for lease” sign in the window of the Capitol Hill Internet Cafe. The store had been closed for at least a week, with an explanation of technical difficulties (something about problems with the utilities) causing the temporary shutdown in operations. Now, however, it seems that the all hope is lost for fans as the cafe once lauded for its tasty sandwiches and ahead-of-the-curve free wifi access has shut its doors for good.

Also posted in their large window is a sign lobbying for the Gay Pride Parade to remain on Broadway. This type of signage is beginning to look a lot like an albatross. Remember what happed to the last building that prominently displayed such posters [mb]?
