Colonnade Park: Team Coverage Continues

That rascally Samantha may have beaten me to the punch, but I hereby supplement her verbal description of the new Colonnade Park underneath Eastlake’s I-5 with this set of photographs.

The park isn’t half as Bladerunner as its location would suggest, and they have some very interesting landscape technologies deployed: crushed rock in rectangular wire cages, grow-lights for the trees, etc. A project is underway to transform more of the hillside into a mountain-biking course, as well.

I certainly better have beaten you to the punch, since I can practically spit on the park from my apartment.
    But I won’t. Because it’s a nice park.

I made it to the ribbon cutting ceremony, and he was talking some about re-doing the park under the freeway at the other end of Eastlake, too.
