Pineapple takes the bus?

On my way out of trivia-turned-karaoke at the EMP with my coworkers tonight, we came across this pineapple sitting on top of the Seattle Weekly box right outside. I come across lots of visual non-sequiturs while wandering around the city, but I have to admit that this is a new one for me.

Is the pineapple making a break for freedom? Is there someone leaving pineapples around the city as a sort of fruity calling card? I admit that I’m stumped, and not a little bit intrigued. When I think pineapples, I do not think about them in conjunction with the winter or with Seattle.

I’m just not sure what this pineapple is trying to say…although it’s not saying much at all any longer, as it was nudged out into traffic just after this picture was taken. Good luck, little pineapple.

I don’t know if you watch the television show “How I Met Your Mother”, but they had an episode on this week where the main character is retelling a story about a drunken night he doesn’t remember. He ends up waking up with a pineapple and has no idea how he got it and none of his friends do either. If you don’t watch the show, check it out. Neil Patrick Douglas (Doogie Howser) is in it too and he’s hillarious!
