Customer Opinion Day – Best Wireless Cafe

breakdown.gif

What’s the best cafe in town to sit and soak up the wireless Internet?

My personal favorites are Perkatory on 13th and Union and the Madrona Verite. I haven’t found a wireless coffeeshop downtown that I like. Can anyone recommend one? Where do you go to surf, work, and play?

Apparently Victrola on Capitol Hill turns off their wireless on the weekends because they felt wireless surfing was killing the coffeeshop scene. Do they have a point?

Caffe Vita on Pike is good.
    This should help

Vivace [mb] and Victrola [mb] turn off WiFi on weekends.

If you stretch your definiton of downtown to include Bauhaus or the Belltown Top Pot, both are great looking cafes with wireless internet, delicious doughnuts, big windows, and good people watching.

It’s not downtown, but I’m a fan of Zoka in U Village. It’s so huge, there is never a problem with camping for the day. And the espresso is as good as you’ll find in Seattle.

But Top Pot in Belltown has wireless and would definately be worth checking out.

Zoka in Tangletown is my “neighborhood” wireless, but they’re often full, and I end up walking down to Cafe Maree near Greenlake. I’m surprised it’s still open, they don’t seem to get much business, but they make great coffee drinks. Bring your own music, some of the stuff they play there is Celine-Dion-weird.

Just up the street from there, across from Gregg’s Greenlake Cycle, is Revolutions, a new shop/bakery with better tunes, but problematic parking.

Top Pot in Belltown, eh? Belltown is a neighborhood where I often find myself stuck looking for a good wifi cafe. Now I know where to go. Anyone know a good spot in Fremont?

Patrick, that’s a great link. Very useful!

The Red Door in Fremont has free wifi, but it’s a pub, not a cafe. Cafe Ladro on Leary Way just west of Lenin has free wifi, I believe. It’s also crowded a lot of the time, though.

Louisa’s on Eastlake closes early, but they have free wifi as well as the best oatmeal raisin cookies in town.

Fremont’s best free wifi cafe: Fremont Coffee on 36th. (Also: you can sit on Peet’s patio and pick up a good signal. Not so pleasant these days, though.) My favorites in other neighborhoods: El Diablo in Queen Anne, Allegro in the U District, Top Pot in Belltown, Zeitgeist south of downtown.
