Artwalk: the people in your neighborhood
When you go to the Artwalk at Pioneer Square, it’s as much about the other people you see as it is about the art.

he works hard for the money
Take this guy on the right for instance. The square is almost deserted, and his guitarcase is empty but for his seed money, but he is out there: he’s singing, dancing, playing his harmonica, playing a guitar, and waggling a hula hoop. I only wish I could multitask like that. Hell, I wish I could chew gum and walk at the same time.

Me Tarzan!
This guy on the left, I like — he’s a photographer’s dream. He came and chased me down, and demanded that I take a photo of him, so I did. This is him, standing proudly with a dead, squashed, traffic cone slung over his shoulder like a big game hunter with his trophy kill. That’s his mate in the background going, “hey, let’s not bother the nice lady, geez”. He didn’t ask me to send him a photo or anything. I like to think that he just wanted a photo of himself, floating in the ether, somewhere anonymous. Maybe he’ll run across this someday, and go, “oh man… I was SO DRUNK that night”.

Fun night in the Square last night, I was kicking around last night as well. My favorite art was Emilia Kallock’s opening at Elliott Bay Books.
Hello!
Thank you for the picture and the recognition. . .
I’ve been busking Seattle full time for the past 4 years
and was just re-elected as chairman of the Pike Market Performers Guild. I remember that night . . . we were kicking off our Seattle Neighborhoods Tour that was unfortunately cut short but I’m about to give it another go. Thanks again and I wish you all the best.
