nickles, ethically challenged

While he escaped the hearings without a penalty, Mayor Nickels was found guilty of ethics violations for using taxpayer money to campaign for re-election. Earlier this year, he sent an eight page document detailing his accomplishments as mayor to 3,100 lucky Seattle residents. While one could imagine a MasterCard commercial ending with “Three Years of Accomplishments: priceless”, the ethics commission disagreed. Along with the mark on his permanent record, it will cost him $2,205 to cover the production and distribution costs. [seattletimes]
