In honor of the opening of Bumbershoot and the creation of a map of Seattle’s historical musical hotspots, the Seattle Times presents a little contest in today’s paper:

At today’s noontime opening ceremonies for Bumbershoot, the Mayor’s Office of Film and Music is releasing the Seattle Music Map, a neighborhood-by-neighborhood, era-by-era tour through Seattle music history. . . . Next to the quiz is a large picture of Kenny G, which makes me think that I have no hope of getting any of the questions right. Luckily for me and others whose first association with “Seattle music” was not “dental office soundtrack”, the music map has all of the answers — including the question about which musician’s name is spelled incorrectly.
