I can’t wait until September

There’s only one thing better than getting to choose from 25 restaurants for a $25 3-course meal, and that would be choosing from 26 restaurants for a $20 3-course meal. Yeah, they’re cheating a little bit, since there’s two Lombardi’s and two Purples on the list. (Also, Eastlake and Greenlake Bar and Grill have identical menus) But still. It just gives you a better chance to hit more restaurants when they double up like that, right?

Careful planning is needed. A lot of restaurants say they’re closed on Sunday and/or Monday, which is pretty crappy considering that the deal is only good from Sundays to Thursdays.

What does my eating plan look like? Well, any restaurant serving up creme brulee is going to get a second look — custard-based desserts are my favorite (citrus-based desserts a close second), so I’ll have an opinion. Other looky-looks:

  • 4×4 Mac and cheese at the Wild Mountain Cafe
  • Lemon Tart at Cafe Lago
  • Truffled Gnocchi at Sand Point Grill
  • Bruschetta Sampler at Lombardi’s (I am such a tool for samplers)
  • Mixed Berry Cream Pie at Eastlake/Greenlake bar and grill
  • Vegetable Tart at Ten Mercer

Restaurants will be graded on menu variety, parking, providing me with a meal with three enjoyable courses, and extra points will be awarded for protein friendliness (on the husband’s behalf).

So. Dinner at 8? I’ll see you there.
