Pasta Search:
Why is good pasta so hard to find?
I’m looking for the best pasta in Seattle. I have grown tired trying to satisfy a carb craving with overcooked noodles and tinny, tasteless sauces.
Metroblog readers, where do you go for good noodles?

In my mind, there’s no question: Asteroid Cafe
Machialvelli or Osteria la Spiga on Capitol Hill
La Madusa in Columbia City
La Rustica in West Seattle
Serefina in East Lake
Pasta Bella on Queen Anne
The Pink Door downtown
I was going to say The Asteroid Cafe, but I see I’m late on the trigger. It’s spendy, but superb. Myron dropped out of a rock band to start the restaurant, spends time doing research in Italy, is always happy to see you (and ring you up!).
If you’re cooking yourself (well, if you’re cooking the noodles yourself. If you’re cooking yourself… well, shop for fava beans and a nice chianti) the Bruchettina booth at the Sunday Ballard Market (Ballard’s Sunday Market? Fremont Market in Ballard?) has some locally made pasta.
Heh, Rob makes great pasta fresh. We’ll have you guys over for dinner once the tomatoes ripen, and we’ll do it fresh all the way. Uh, yum!
