Weekend Hikes in the Pacific Northwest: Big Greider Lake
My boyfriend and I had been hoping to do another hike-in camp this past weekend (similar to our Josephine Lake adventure), but since I had been sick earlier in the week we opted for a less strenuous day hike followed by car camping at a familiar campsite. Looking for a trail not too far from Seattle, we decided to climb up to Big Greider Lake, another alpine lake in the Northern Cascades.

I just did the Greider lake hike on sat, 10/22/05. it was a nice day – yes, this climb is short, but intense. i counted more than 40 switchbacks on the way down. at this time of year, there was only one other couple up there – on a nice saturday! if it was cruddy – we woulda been the only folks up there! the campsites look nice up there. there’s about 6 of them. i got as good workout – not for little kids or weak folks.
