Closing August 5th at the Solomon Fine Art.

This Thursday is the ever-delightful First Thursday Art Walk many of us look forward to each month.

SUGGESTED THIS MONTH:

.. Art in the Park in Occidental Park, Pioneer Square neighborhood.
Explore and support the work of emerging independent artists and hip local arts and crafts vendors for creatively fantastic, one-of-a-kind funky finds. Enjoy live street music and mingle with the community. Starts at 3pm ’til dusk.

.. Western Building independent artists’ studios and lofts, 619 Western Avenue in Pioneer Square.
Maze through each floor of the enchantingly-craftsy Western Building and visit the works of independent artists in the shared studios and lofts space. I love the Western Building and everything in it! It’s your quintessential artist’s workspace

I’ll second that endorsement — it’s always fun to get a mix of the traditional, new, and live/work scenes during art walk. If people are feeling ambitious, the Live Girls usually put on a free cabaret show in their space in one of the lofts in the Western Building.

I’m definitely in a constant quest to discover more raw talents in the art. Please e-mail me at missaquino@gmail.com or share it here for other suggestions.
