Tonight is the ever-delightful First Thursday Art Walk many of us look forward to each month.
SUGGESTED:
“Between Dreaming and Awakening,” an Impressionistic Photography from Thailand, Cambodia and Nepal by Sandy Shum. This enlightening exhibition is now on display until July 31st at the Vidya Gallery, 619 Western Avenue #22 [co-located with the noble-minded Tibetan Nuns Project, and co-housed at the enchantingly-craftsy Western Building with other independent artists' lofts] in the Pioneer Square neighborhood. A reception will be held at the gallery tonight, July 7th, from 6pm-9pm, during the First Thursday Art Walk. From the exhibition profits, the artist will donate 20% to Burmese and Karen (a hilltribe ethnic group) artists living in Thailand.
Shum’s vibrant photographs provide an in-depth insight on the artist’s view on life, awakeningly stating, “I wish to provide a moment to pause and reflect on the wonder and grace in the dreamlight of daily life.”
I love it already.

I made sure to stop by this one, on your recommendation…Wow!
I had friends showing in the same building. So, it was easy :)
I think the “Daily Prayers” pieces from Nepal were my favorites.
Indeed, the photo exhibition was exceptionally inspiring. It was the visual definition of art therapy.
