The Seattle-born architect is of course best-known as the designer of the late World Trade Center, but his contributions to our urban core include the IBM Tower as well as the (in)famous Rainier Tower & Square complex, shown here. Next time you’re near the 1977 structure, don’t forget the free roof deck on top of the Square building. It’s open during business hours and offers up-close views of neighboring edifices, such as the Cobb Building with its attendant Native American ornamentation:



If you’re headed to the Rainier Building, one might assume an interest in archtitecture, therefore a requisite visit to the Seattle Architectural Foundaiton’s office and exhibit space.
