More tree-hugging
OK, I have to know. Why, why, WHY, does Washington celebrate its Arbor Day next Wednesday, when everyone else celebrates it on the last Friday of April? Whatever the reason, be sure and check out the Seattle Times for some fun Arbor Day facts, including their interactive map of Heritage trees. Other self-directed tours are available at the city of Seattle website. If you have kids, you’re going to need all the tours you can get your mitts on — the University of Washington is taking a sabbatical from their Arbor Day Fair this year.
Remember, some of these trees are on private property, so instead of hugging them, it may be more appropriate to blow them kisses from the property line.
Meanwhile, over in Bellevue, we’re waiting until the OTHER Arbor Day to celebrate. It’s kind of like having two Christmasses, only not.
