fools gold

drought relief, daily style

Maybe it’s just the results of being on campus hungry and decaffeinated, but this year’s April Fools edition of the daily is actually kind of funny. It looks like you’ll need to pick up a hard copy to get in on the jokes:

  • UW Swaps mascot for ‘the Herpes’

  • Former UW president to teach intro sex course
  • New spring dress code requires more skin
  • Fountain water to be replaced with booze, pop or bong remnants
  • President by day, superhero by night
  • Bring back ‘da bomb’
  • ‘Dumbo syndrome’ real threat for frequent iPod users

You get the picture, hilarity ensues. I guess something about being “journalists” is preventing them from putting the humor on their site; so you’ll either need to make a trip to the U-District or just use your imagination.

There is an extra quote at the end of the daily link that needs to be fixed. Plus this was double posted.

It’s entirely possible. The hard part about finding the answer would be that the Onion’s archives are locked up for paying readers.

If it was copied from the Onion, it might explain why so much of the issue was funny.
