We also do weddings

Saturday’s photo shoot at the Bellevue Botanical Garden was a lot of fun, if your definition of “fun” includes being with a group of people who all have a camera and are looking for any opportunity to use it. (Mine does) A LOT of people decided to sacrifice sleep for their art, and it was really exciting to see everyone running around with tripods and cameras and sharing their techniques.
While we were stacked up three deep by the Japanese tea house, a young man hesitantly came over to ask if he would be getting in OUR way if he were to wander around and scatter rose petals everywhere. Apparently Randy was about to proposed to his girlfriend Courtenay (hope I spelled that right) in about 10 minutes and needed to prepare the area. How cute!
Of course, everyone else who had better manners than I did, skedaddled and pretended to be very interested in the ducks at the bottom pool. After Randy had proposed and Courtenay had accepted they called us all back over, and we offered our congratulations. No one can really know how Randy and Courtenay felt about having their private moment overrun by a sizeable group of photographers, but they were extremely gracious about posing for photos, and showing off the engagement ring.
So congrats again, Randy and Courtenay! After a proposal like that, you’re off to a great start!
