Can you also report on the teas that these places have? I love a good tea…

Great suggestion! I’m afraid I’m pretty single-minded when it comes to my daily cups of coffee (although I do enjoy good tea as a special treat) — I didn’t even think to check out what sorts of tea might be available. The boyfriend is a big tea drinker, so I’m putting him on point for this.

I wish Seattle had something like San Francisco’s Samovar Tea Lounge (www.samovartea.com) — I would drink a lot more tea if we did. Samovar has a fabulous selection of teas, all served in beautiful teapots suited to the specific type of tea, and also a wonderful and varied menu of tea-appropriate food. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in SF.

Teahouse Kuan Yin in Wallingford is a pretty good place to have tea. I don’t know if they have different teapots, but they do have teapot warmers, an extensive tea list, and wireless internet. [nytimes]

Victrola serves a nice selection of less traditional loose-leaf teas in teapots, and I’ve heard nice things about Shinka in the U-District.
