		<description>Ah, you&#039;re vegan.  I was vegan for a couple of years [in Australia] and it was ok as long as I was around other vegans.  Once I left the fold it became anti-social and I went back to ovo-lacto and later to ovo-fisho-lacto and finally to Forrager.



Right now, my son has &#039;allergies&#039; and can&#039;t eat gluten [ie all vegan &#039;meat&#039; alternatives are out] including most TVP.  They seem to put wheat gluten into everything in the west.  Interestingly, asian &quot;mock meats&quot; (which are also vegan and can be bought at Uwajimaya) seem to use tapioca starch and far less wheat.  They&#039;re ok, but he hates them.  Its probably my cooking.
