Word on the street is that Washington has lost its battleground state cred. The Wall Street Journal reports that “Republicans acknowledge that coastal targets Washington and Maine may be out of reach for President Bush.” [wsj] while the the Bush campaign continues to contest the state.

For their part, the Kerry campaign is sending stepson Andre Heinz to town to co-watch the next debate at local gay-friendly country & western themed drinking establishment, Timberline Spirits [jk.com]. The debate starts at 5 pm on Friday. No promises, implied or otherwise, of post debate line dancing.
