Neighborhoods

So I lived in Greenlake last year and I live west of Lake Union this year.
Greenlake was very health-oriented. I used to jog around the lake once a day, and there were always people playing soccer, baseball, basketball, golf, tennis, or just generally hanging out there. There’s a huge Whole Foods. Everyone lives in a great old Craftsman houses with a deck and a pretty garden.
Unfortunately, I had a pretty bad commute. I work in Tukwila, so I had to drive I-5 south during rush hour every day. I could have taken 99, but it was a little out of the way. And, y’know, I’m lazy.
My place this year is literally perfect. I always call it my shoebox, but it’s a shoebox with a beautiful view of the lake and a rooftop terrace. I live alone, so I can go to sleep at 6 in the evening or 4 in the morning and there’s no one to care. I have a kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a pretty big closet. What more do I need?
Plus, I’m right next to 99, so my commute is easy in the morning.
Oh, I almost forgot: I’m doing a 5K run next weekend for Seafair. I’ve never participated in a public run, but I think I’ll do fine. The web page says that people have three and a half hours – to run less than four miles!

I hear you with the shoebox concept. Sometimes I think that my studio is going to close in on me and swallow me whole, but that’s cool…Its not too expensive and its in a great locale.
